Professional Development
Participants will experience cultural immersions in the target country. Also, participants will receive a certificate of completion by Global Cultures Institute professional development point. Global Cultures Institute is a licensed provider for professional development approved by the Department of Education of Massachusetts.
What is Cultural Competency?
Cultural competency is an individual's capacity for valuing diversity, assessing or reflecting one's own view, managing the dynamics of differences, acquiring cultural knowledge, and adapting to cultural contexts of organizations and communities (Martin & Vaughn, 2003).
Global and Societal Changes
Global and societal changes have made cultural competency an imperative attribute to have for healthcare providers, businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions.
